There are many ways to get to Martel. I usually fly into Toulouse then hire a car. If you are spending a few days in Paris prior to your visit, the train to Brive-la-Gaillarde is a great way to travel and see the countryside. Brive Airport is the closest airport to Martel and I have flown into Brive many times from London Stansted in England.
Souillac and Brive-la-Gaillarde are the closest TGV train stations. Brive-la-Gaillarde is a major SNCF station and is 25 minutes’ drive from Martel. Rental car companies are located near the station. Direct trains depart from Paris Austerlitz and take approximately 4 hours on an express train, with services every 1-3 hours on weekdays and less on weekends. From Brive-la-Gaillarde you can get a limited service regional train to Saint-Denis-Les-Martel, a 6 minute taxi ride or an 11 minute bus ride into Martel.
Souillac is a smaller station and only 15 minutes’ drive from Martel. Trains go to Paris in the North and Toulouse in the South. From Souillac there is a bus to Martel.. There are no rental car companies located at this station.
If you are travelling from London you can take the Eurostar to Paris Gare du Nord station and then take the metro to Paris Austerlitz. Eurostar train services are hourly and the trip to Paris takes around 2 hours 20 minutes.

The nearest airport to Martel is Brive (BVE), Dordogne Valley and is 15 minutes north from Martel on the D840 in Nespouls, near the A20 Autoroute.
It is only open from March to October and direct flights into Brive are limited. Air France has 1-2 flights daily from Paris Orly which takes 1 hour 15 minutes. Ryanair operates flights from London Stansted on Wednesdays and Saturdays. You can also fly to and from Porto in Portugal.
